Recipe: Breakfast Oatmeal

Our simple yet tasty oatmeal recipe is a great way to start the morning. It's very filling and a slight twist on your traditional boxed oatmeal. You can use any dried fruit you might have around as a quick substitute. We've used apples, raisins, craisins, blueberries, and the list goes on.

Ingredients:
  • 1 C gluten free rolled oats
  • 1 C rice milk
  • 1 C purified water
  • 1 TBSP brown sugar
  • 2 dried apricots, chopped
  • 2 TBSP dried apples, chopped
Directions:
  1. Combine rice milk and water in a small pot, and bring it to boil.
  2. Add oats and brown sugar into boiling liquid, then turn the heat down to medium high.
  3. After cooking them for a couple of minutes, add the dried apples.
  4. Cook for another few minutes and add the dried apricots. Continue to cook until the oats are desired consistency.
  5. Serve immediately. The total cooking time is about 5-10 minutes depending on your preference of oats consistency.
Notes:
Makes 2 small servings, or 1 large serving (as shown in the photo).
