Go Raw Organic Apple Cinnamon Granola

Gluterra Rating:
1

This product is all organic with ingredients including sprouted buckwheat groats, sprouted sunflower seeds, dates, sesame seeds, coconut, hemp seeds, apples, cinnamon, vanilla, orange oil and sea salt. It's gluten free, wheat free, and nut free.

Before buying this product, I expected a granola taste heavy on the nuts and dried fruit pieces with a heavy dose of apple and cinnamon. I'm not sure that's what I got.

The pieces are almost like a light thin brittle that have been broken up after being formed in a pan with little random apple pieces everywhere. It looks pretty good, and smells okay, but the taste?

It's very possible I have a bad batch, but the taste has a slight sourness to the apple flavor, completely unlike the tart Granny Smith taste you might expect. Maybe it's supposed to taste this way, with it being raw and all. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but based on the batch I have, I'm not a big fan.

I have used it as cereal where I put in some rice milk and fresh fruit which does the trick in covering up the taste enough for me to eat.

And to top it all off, I looked at the receipt when I got home and almost fell to the floor. The 1lb. bag of this granola was almost $12! Whoah!

For the record, my wife likes it better than me and said "it just tastes real raw." I still think it's not ready for prime time especially with that price, but who knows, you may like it. I'm sure it's real healthy for you.

This gets a 1 out of 5 stars.
