Healthy gluten-free snack bars can get really expensive, but you can easily make your own snack bars at home and save some money. All you need for this recipe is a food processor and 5 ingredients. No baking is required. Read more...

This is one of our favorite ways to eat tofu. It's crunchy when it's hot, slightly chewy when it cold. It's great as a main dish with a side of brown rice, or as a healthy snack. Read more...

This slaw is great for fish, pork, chicken, or tempeh tacos. Make it the day before you want to serve it so the cabbage soaks up all the flavors of the lime, cilantro, and onions. It's also great as a side dish for many other entrees. Read more...

This recipe requires only 5 ingredients. You may notice that it has many steps for a slow cooker recipe (after all, slow cookers are invented to make cooking easy, right?). But it's definitely worth following all the steps to get the great flavor. It's still a great simple recipe that can transformed into multiple dishes. Read more...

We love apple cider vinegar, and this is one of our favorite marinated vegetable salads using it. Make it at least 30 minutes in advance so that the flavors blend nicely. We like to make it the night before because it really does help all the flavors dance together. Read more...

This is a great appetizer with corn chips, or you can use it in tacos or drop a scoop on a salad. Read more...

Since I live in the South, I occasionally cook southern food and it can be very good, even relatively healthy if you do it right. Fried okra is one of the dishes I like to cook when okra is in season. I put my own spin on it by making it gluten-free vegan and it's actually not "deep fried", but more like pan fried in olive oil. The coating of the okra doesn't look as pretty and uniform as the store bought variety, but I think my version tastes as good or better than the regular fried okra. Read more...

This is my basic fried rice recipe. As with many Asian dishes, the secret to making good fried rice (or stir fry) is to heat your wok really well. Making fried rice at a high temperature in a short amount of time gives it the "fried" flavor you are looking for. Read more...

This sauce/marinade is simple yet very flavorful. It's great as a seasoning for stir fry or as a marinade for BBQ. I use it as a base marinade for mongolian beef (a separate recipe for mongolian beef is coming soon). Since the recipe contains sugar, the food tends to burn easily, so watch your meat carefully.
